The same faces every week, yours included
We're a small local team in Dalby, and we hire slowly on purpose. If you want to be one of a rotating pool covering whoever's free, this isn't it. If you want the same people week after week, read on.
Why here
The staff stay, which tells you most of what you need to know
Our team is small and it doesn't churn. That's not luck. Alison spent thirty years recruiting people before she started this business, and looking after staff properly is one of the four things the business says it stands for, not an afterthought.
Practically, it means you're matched to people you suit rather than dropped into whatever gap opened up, you know your week, and when something goes sideways there's someone local to call who already knows the participant.

What we look for
We'd rather wait than hire the wrong person
Every worker is matched to a participant on personality before anything else, so the bar is about who you are as much as what you've done.
You can meet someone where they are
The way you talk to an eleven year old isn't the way you talk to a woman in her seventies. The people who do well here read that instantly and adjust without being told.
You turn up
Reliability is most of the job. The people we support plan their week around a familiar face arriving, and a cancelled shift isn't a small thing out here.
You're happy out of town
Some shifts are in Dalby. Some are a real drive. If you'd rather be on the road and out in the country than in one building all day, that suits this work.
Experience helps, character decides
Backgrounds in aged care, nursing, support work and disability employment are all well represented here. None of them matter if you can't connect with the person in front of you.
The work
What a shift really looks like
Less of a program than people expect. A lot of it's being good company while someone gets on with their life.
- Getting out into the community, from ten-pin and lawn bowls to a round of golf
- Driving people to appointments in our own vehicles
- A hand at home with meals, the shopping and personal care
- Cooking together rather than cooking for someone
- Working on skills alongside their allied health team
- Evenings, weekends and the occasional overnight stay
Where the work is
Dalby, out west, and increasingly Toowoomba
Most shifts run in and around Dalby and out across the Western Downs. We're also recruiting in Toowoomba. If you live locally and you know the roads out here, say so, because that's genuinely useful.
How to apply
Send us a resume and tell us about yourself
There's no portal and no automated screening. Email your resume with a few lines about why this work interests you, or pick up the phone. A real person answers.
You'll need the usual checks in place, or be willing to get them sorted. We'll talk you through what's required.
